Special Events

Here are some of the Special Events that are planned for the 2009 Fall Harvest Festival:

Every Weekend -
Pig Races at the Swine Speedway – During Fall Festival dates – Fri 6:30pm and 8pm, Sat. 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm, 5:30pm and 7pm. Sun 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm.

Loklinters Clydesdale Drawn Wagon rides ( $2.00 per person).  Experience REAL horsepower, the power your grandparents remember.  Available 12pm – 4pm, or until horses tire, on October Saturdays and Sundays.  *Hours and price are subject to change*

Scarecrow Workshop – A fun activity the entire family will enjoy.  Make your own life-sized scarecrow to take home.  $22.00 each, includes materials and instruction.  Scarecrow Kit (not including pants or shirt) is $15 – either bring your own clothers and make your scarecrow at the farm or purchase the kit for home assembly. Makes a great fall decoration too!

Teacher Appreciation Days – September 27 & October 4
FREE ADMISSION for Teacher with Official School ID.
-Register to win a Free Educational Field Trip at Belvedere Plantation for an entire class.

Pumpkin Cannon – Tenatively scheduled for Saturdays & Sundays in October.
Greg Quann will be here shooting his pumpkin cannon.  On Saturdays, the demonstration hours will be 10am – 12 noon and 1pm – 3pm and on Sundays the demonstration hours will be 1pm – 4pm.  A lucky few will be chosen to fire the cannon.  *Check back with us for firm dates*
